EverTag Battery life calculator

Simulate how beaconing, positioning, and movement impact battery life for EverTag. Adjust intervals, compare scenarios, and see months/years instantly—ideal for pilots, scale-ups, and lowering TCO.

Estimate battery life for Wirepas tags

Simulate how beaconing, positioning, and movement affect battery life for EverTag and EverTag Mini (ET/ETM). Adjust intervals, compare scenarios, and see months/years instantly—ideal for planning pilots, scaling deployments, and reducing total cost of ownership.

When this is valuable

  • Pre-deployment / RFPs: verify battery budget and latency targets before pilots.
  • Scale-up: safely roll out thousands of tags with predictable maintenance windows.
  • Operations: tune intervals for each area (dock, aisles, wards) to balance responsiveness and life.

Tips for longer battery life

  • Increase beacon interval where real-time updates aren’t required.
  • Use a longer idle positioning interval than moving.
  • Minimize unnecessary events in high-motion zones.
  • Choose ET vs. ETM to match size vs. longevity requirements.

What the model calculates (short)

Coulomb-based model combining base current and per-event charges for positioning and beacons. Movement splits time between idle/moving. Outputs consumption per month (C) and battery life (months/years). No data is stored; runs fully in the browser.

Common starting scenarios

  • Warehouse (fast moves): Tag / ETM — beacon 2 s, positioning 60 s (moving), 600 s (idle), movement 40–60%.
  • Manufacturing / yard: Tag / ET — beacon 4 s, positioning 120 s / 900 s, movement 20–40%.
  • Healthcare equipment: Tag / ETM — beacon off (0), positioning 300 s / 1800 s, movement 5–15%.

How to use the calculator

Select Device (EverTag / EverTag Mini) and Role (Tag/Anchor).

Set positioning intervals for idle and moving, and the beacon interval (set 0 to disable).

Drag the movement intensity slider (0–100%).

Read battery life (months/years) and monthly consumption.
Use Quick compare to test beaconing 0/1/2/4 s.

FAQ

How accurate is it?
It mirrors our internal, measured current model. The model use all the energy in the battery but in reality the tag will die when battery voltage approaches around 2V rendering a little bit of energy to be unusable for the tag.

Does it work for both Tag and Anchor?
Yes—select the correct role to apply the right base current profile.

Any privacy concerns?
