The Customer

Enava works with water infrastructure and environmental monitoring. They needed a reliable sensor solution to continuously measure groundwater and sewage levels in municipal systems — without the high costs and limitations of traditional wired systems.

This project represents an important milestone for CargoBeacon: it demonstrates that our sensor expertise extends beyond indoor IoT and tracking — into environmental and infrastructure monitoring where reliability and long service life are critical.

The Challenge

Municipal water infrastructure requires continuous monitoring. Groundwater levels affect construction, agriculture, and urban planning. Sewage overflow events are environmental hazards that need early detection. Traditional solutions rely on expensive wired systems or manual readings — both inadequate for modern infrastructure management.

Climate change increases both flooding and drought risks, making monitoring more essential than ever. The EU Water Framework Directive also demands increasingly stringent water infrastructure monitoring. The need is for low-power, wireless sensors that work underground — in wells, tunnels, and manholes.

Cloud Integration & Dashboard
