Project Background

Alderholmens Mekaniska is a mechanical workshop in Gävle, Sweden, manufacturing precision parts. In collaboration with RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) and CargoBeacon, a Proof of Concept project was carried out with the goal of connecting energy consumption directly to manufacturing orders — and ultimately to each individual product.

The project is highly relevant for EU sustainability reporting requirements (CSRD) and helps manufacturers understand their carbon footprint per product. By connecting energy data to manufacturing orders, companies can identify where energy is consumed and where improvements have the greatest impact.

Energy per Production Group

Wh & CO₂ per Order — Pareto Analysis

Power BI dashboard showing Wh and CO₂ consumed per production group AND order. Pareto analysis to identify which orders and articles contribute most to CO₂ emissions. Enables data-driven decisions about which products need optimization.

CB Track — Sensor Analysis

Analyze all sensor data in CB Track. Possibility to add more sensors — position, utilization, temperature, humidity, sound, light. Provides a complete picture of the production environment beyond energy alone.

Sustainability & CSRD
